A coal-laden truck overturned in Curchorem due to a sudden road collapse over prior sewerage work.
No injuries occurred despite the significant spill of coal onto the road.
Police did not investigate the collapse and only oversaw reloading of the coal.
A truck transporting coal overturned in Warra, Curchorem, on Wednesday after the road beneath it suddenly gave way at a location where sewerage work had previously been undertaken. The incident caused the entire load of coal to spill across the roadway, but no injuries were reported.
Curchorem police promptly arrived at the scene. However, rather than launching an investigation or taking formal action regarding the road collapse, officers merely supervised the process of reloading the coal back onto the vehicle.
Residents have expressed concern over the safety of roads in the area, particularly where recent infrastructure work has left the ground unstable.
