PANJIM: Criticising the government’s handling of the poor condition of roads across the State, former PWD Minister and MLA Nilesh Cabral said that the roads during his tenure were durable.
“During my tenure, I completed roads with the same contractors and they were durable,” said Cabral.
When asked to respond to whether engineers are responsible, he emphasised on accountability and directed questions about engineers’ responsibilities to the current Chief Minister.
“Whether PWD engineers are responsible I can’t say. During my tenure there was accountability. Now, also there is accountability. CM made a statement that engineers and contractors are accountable, then you ask the CM,” he added.
