Cortalim Congress calls for urgent fixes to Zuari Bridge access roads

Published on

Cortalim Congress leader Olencio Simoes, along with concerned villagers, has called for urgent rectification of the approach roads from Cortalim to the Bridge Junction and from the Toyota showroom to the Zuari Bridge. Simoes highlighted that these stretches have become accident-prone zones, with several incidents reported in recent months. He attributed the rising number of accidents to poor road alignment, substandard design, and a lack of adequate safety measures, all of which pose serious risks to motorists.

The sharp curves and absence of clear signage, particularly at night, make these sections especially hazardous for commuters. Simoes emphasized that the current conditions leave drivers vulnerable, increasing the likelihood of mishaps, especially during the rainy season when visibility is further compromised. He urged the authorities to prioritize immediate improvements, including better road design, installation of proper signage, and enhanced safety features to protect the lives of daily commuters.

The villagers’ demand comes amid growing frustration over repeated accidents and the perceived neglect of critical infrastructure issues in the area. They are hopeful that swift action will be taken to address these safety concerns, ensuring safer travel for all who use these vital road links.
