Crime Branch Seizes 30 Kg Ganja in Mapusa; Two Maharashtra Men Arrested

In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Goa Crime Branch officials arrested two individuals and seized 30 kilograms of ganja during a raid near Duler Petrol Pump in Mapusa on Tuesday.

The operation, led by PI Vikas Deykar and supported by ASI Sriram Salgaonkar, ASI Dinesh Pikulkar, and police constables Sulesh Naik, Kritesh Kinalkar, Subha Gaonkar, and Prakash Utkuri, was conducted between 1:40 AM and 6:30 AM.

The accused, identified as Sukdev Bhagwan Koli (21) of Savelde, Dhule, and Ravindra Vithal Bhil (24) of Shirpure, Dhule, both from Maharashtra, were caught red-handed with the contraband stored in the dicky of a white Maruti Suzuki Ciaz (MH-05-BM-2020).

The seized items include:

  • 30 kg of ganja (suspected narcotic substance)

  • One OnePlus mobile phone

  • ₹370 in cash

  • The vehicle used in the crime

The total value of the seized items is estimated at ₹40.10 lakh.

An FIR has been registered at the Crime Branch Police Station under Crime No. 72/2025 for offences under Section 20(b)(ii)(C) of the NDPS Act, 1985.

Further investigation is being carried out by PI Vikas Deykar under the supervision of DySP Rajesh Kumar and SP Crime Rahul Gupta, IPS.
