Current State of Goa Not What Freedom Fighters Envisioned, Says LoP Amid Surge in Crime and Corruption

Amid a spate of violent crimes in Goa, including murders, rapes, and robberies, the Leader of Opposition (LoP) has strongly criticized the current state of affairs, stating that this is not the Goa envisioned by the freedom fighters who fought for the state’s liberation.

Speaking on the deteriorating law and order situation, the LoP said that growing criminal incidents and widespread corruption in the name of development have cast a shadow over the state's future. “This is not the dream our freedom fighters had for us. Goa is fast losing its character and sense of safety,” the LoP stated.

The remarks come at a time when public outrage is mounting over a series of crimes reported across the state, with citizens demanding stricter law enforcement and accountability from the government.

The LoP further alleged that corruption is being masked as development, with questionable decisions and unchecked projects compromising both public trust and welfare.

Calling for urgent introspection, the LoP urged the ruling government to take swift corrective action before public confidence erodes any further.
