PANJIM: The Parish Pastoral Council of Our Lady of Ajuda Church in Ribandar, in association with the Cyber Crime Cell of Goa Police, hosted a Cyber Crime awareness programme at the church hall on September 22. The timely was initiative aimed to educate and empower the community with essential knowledge and best practices for ensuring online safety.
The event began with a welcome message from PPC Moderator Merlyn Rodrigues, followed by a floral tribute from Joint Secretary Sharol Mendonca. Fr Freddy Braganca, Director of Responsible Tourism at Caritas Goa, along with Parish Priest Fr Francisco Dias, played key roles in organizing the program.
DySP Ashish Shirodkar, PIs Brendan de Souza, Vidyanand Powar and Viraj Khanekar, shared valuable insights on cyber crime prevention and investigation. It concluded with a vote of thanks from vice moderator Alfred Fernandes and the presentation of mementos to the guest speakers by secretary Fronton Noronha.
Interactive sessions and Q&A discussions allowed participants to clarify their doubts and concerns.
The program emphasized safe online practices, password management, and the importance of reporting cyber crime incidents.
