The allotment of plots to schools in the proposed integrated school complex at Davorlim will start within next three months, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant informed the Legislative Assembly on Monday.

The government had already acquired 1 lakh square metres of land at Davorlim to develop a state-of-the-art school complex, similar to the integrated school complex at Cujira near Bambolim.

Sawant told Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai that the allotment of plots to eligible educational institutions from Margao will begin within three months’ time. The schools which are located in the congested Margao town city will be relocated at Davorlim to decongest the town.

The government will provide required infrastructure such as playground but the respective school managements will have to construct their own buildings, Sawant said.

The Fatorda MLA requested the government to take concrete steps to allot plots and to take MLAs into confidence to resolve the issue of locals. The Chief Minister said that the government will also remove the encroachments there.
