Water Reserves Sufficient for 150 Days, Says Minister Subhash Shirodkar

As water levels in most of Goa’s reservoirs fall below 40%, the State government has assured residents there will be no drinking water shortage during the peak summer months.

Water Resources Minister Subhash Shirodkar reassured the public that current water reserves are more than adequate to meet Goa’s drinking water requirements. “As of now, whatever water we have is sufficient for 150 days. For the next three months at least, we have nothing to worry about,” he said.

The minister’s statement comes amid rising temperatures and growing public concern over potential water scarcity. Shirodkar emphasized that the government is closely monitoring the situation and is prepared to take necessary measures if conditions change.

Authorities continue to urge the public to use water judiciously, even as the State remains in a comfortable position with its current supply.
