PANJIM: Dr R G Wiseman Pinto, Professor of Pathology, former Dean of Goa University and President of Asian Society of Cytopathology, has been appointed as one of the investigator to conduct a International Research Project titled 'Surgical Pathology and Sustainable Development: International Landscapes and Prospects', by the University of Bordeaux, Nouvelle - Aquitaive, France.

This is a multicententric study to be conducted by Bourdeaux University and other centers in Belgium , Germany, USA, UK, France, Tunisia, New Zealand and India.

From India, the two pathologists were selected were Dr Wiseman Pinto and Dr Anita Borges. The main objectives of this study is to create surgical pathology laboratories which will reduce the carbon footprint, emit less carbon gases so as to maintain a clean and green environment and rcosystem. This is to combat the escalating challenges of global warming, biodiversity loss and encompassing the concept of one Health call.

The investigators are Dr Remi Vergara, France;

Dr Ivan Theate, Belgium; Dr Peter Boor Germany; Dr I O Gordon, USA; Dr Jonathan West, New Zealand; Dr Selma Abdelmoula, Tunisia; Dr C Tilmant, France; Dr R G Wiseman Pinto, India; Dr Lucie Gaillot D, France; and Dr S Scott, UK. Dr Pinto is the only Pathologist from India participating in this study as Dr Borges declined due to time constraints.
