PANJIM: The Dudhsagar Tour Operators Association has refused to operate through a Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) counter, at the venue.

The Association alleged that they were not consulted when the agreement was signed between the service provider and the GTDC. They alleged that that the service provider was charging Rs 250 extra per person, and this was one of the reasons for them to oppose the counter.

A delegation of Dudhsagar Tour Operators Association along with Sanvordem MLA and GTDC Chairman Ganesh Gaonkar on Friday met Chief Minister Pramod Sawant at the Mantralaya, Porvorim.

After meeting the chief minister, Association president Nilesh Chari said that they were stakeholders but were not taken into confidence before signing the agreement between the GTDC and the service provide.

Dudhsagar Tour Operators Association executive member Tribolo D’Souza said that their former president signed the agreement but as office-bearers they were not consulted about the same.“Our former Association president has committed a mistake,” he said.

Velip said that the chief minister has assured them that he would find a solution after consulting the concerned departments and sought some time. But we have hinted to the chief minister that we want a solution before our operations starts from October 2 this year.
