The much-awaited Dudhsagar trekking season officially began today with Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) Chairman Dr. Ganesh Gaonkar flagging off an eco-tourism initiative aimed at promoting sustainable travel and adventure tourism in the region.

The event marks the opening of the monsoon trek to the iconic Dudhsagar Falls, one of Goa’s most popular natural attractions. Addressing participants, Dr. Gaonkar emphasized the importance of preserving Goa’s biodiversity while encouraging responsible tourism.

“This eco-tourism drive is not just about adventure—it’s about respecting nature, protecting wildlife, and supporting the local economy,” he said.

The GTDC has coordinated with the Forest Department and local stakeholders to ensure safety protocols, environmental safeguards, and proper trekking routes are in place for visitors.

Dudhsagar, known for its breathtaking cascade and lush green surroundings, draws thousands of trekkers and nature lovers each monsoon. This season, the focus is on balancing tourism with conservation.

Trek bookings can now be made through the GTDC portal, with limited slots available each day to avoid overcrowding and environmental degradation.
