
The festival of Eid al-Adha was observed with devotion and harmony in various parts of Goa on Sunday. Muslim communities gathered at mosques across the state, including in Panjim, Margão, Vasco, Ponda, and Mapuçá, to offer special prayers and commemorate the spirit of sacrifice.
From early morning, devotees dressed in traditional attire assembled for the Eid namaz, followed by heartfelt exchanges of greetings and brotherhood.
In rural areas such as Konadi in Korgão and parts of Pednem taluka, the celebrations witnessed significant local participation. At the Konadi mosque, Panch Abdul Naik addressed the gathering, spoke about the importance of Eid, and wished everyone peace and prosperity.
The day was marked by acts of charity, distribution of food, and prayers for well-being and unity. The festival passed off peacefully, with no untoward incidents reported.
Authorities ensured smooth traffic flow and cleanliness around prayer sites, while local communities took the lead in organizing the celebrations with discipline and devotion.
