PONDA: A Karnataka-based family had a narrow escape on Sunday after their car lost control on a sharp curve along the Dhavli-Farmagudi road, within the Kavlem Panchayat jurisdiction. The driver reportedly swerved and braked suddenly to avoid hitting a stray dog that appeared on the road, causing the vehicle to mount the divider and collide with roadside and traffic signal poles. The family was en route to Mardol after visiting the Kamaxi Temple in Shiroda when the mishap occurred. No injuries were reported. Local residents have noted that the stretch is accident-prone, with poor visibility due to parked trucks and sharp turns that limit the line of sight for oncoming vehicles.
