In a shocking incident, a fatal collision was reported at Merces flyover between a car and a bike on Wednesday. The impact of the collision was so severe that the bike rider died on the spot.
On 6 November, Wednesday evening near Merces over bridge, Merces, Tiswadi, Goa accused driver of Swift car drove his Car in a rash and negligent manner. The driver was a resident of Altinho, Panaji, Tiswadi, Goa. When the driver reached near Merces over the bridge, Merces gave a dash to the oncoming rider while he was proceeding towards Old Goa.
The victim was identified as Gimel Kujur, from Chhattisgarh, age 31 years, and resident of Taleigao, Panaji Goa.
At that time the said rider of Splendor Motorcycle suddenly entered and rode his bike at approximately 80 meters to 100 meters on the other side of National Highway 748 which is a one-way road proceeding from Panaji to Old Goa. Due to the impact of the vehicle the rider of the bike fell down on the road and sustained multiple injuries.
The ambulance reached the site and the victim was further shifted to GMC Bambolim. The doctor on duty at the casualty ward of GMC Bambolim was declared dead. Further investigation is in progress with PSI.
