Indian Super League (ISL) club FC Goa officially announced the departure of Spanish centre-back and club captain Odei Onaindia on Thursday via their social media platforms, marking the end of a key chapter in the club's recent history.
Onaindia, known for his exceptional game-reading ability, aerial dominance, and composure under pressure, quickly became one of the most reliable defenders in the ISL. He joined the Gaurs ahead of the 2023–24 season, reuniting with head coach Manolo Marquez, under whom he previously played at Hyderabad FC.
His seamless adaptation to the team’s tactical structure allowed him to form a rock-solid defensive pairing with Sandesh Jhingan, a duo instrumental in FC Goa’s impressive backline over the past two seasons.
FC Goa extended their gratitude to Onaindia for his contributions on and off the pitch, with fans also taking to social media to express appreciation for the captain’s leadership and commitment.
