FC Goa gave outgoing head coach Manolo Marquez a perfect send-off by clinching the 2025 Indian Super Cup title with a dominant 3-0 victory over Jamshedpur FC. This win not only secured Marquez’s first national trophy with the club but also earned FC Goa a spot in the upcoming AFC Champions League 2 playoffs. Borja Herrera starred with a brace, while Dejan Drazic added a third to seal the commanding victory, helping Goa to overcome Jamshedpur after a strong initial challenge.
In his farewell, Marquez praised the camp for their resilience and praised their collective effort throughout the tournament.
In his post-match comments, Marquez praised his players and staff, emphasising the unity and organisation at the club:
'It was a great tournament and a fantastic group, they completely deserve to be the champions. We arrived here knowing we had to win four games, and we did it. I feel that we finished second in the ISL Shield because we faced a very strong Mohun Bagan. We lost in the semifinal due to small details. Here, we wanted to win and secure the Asian competition slot, and we played four very good games.' Marquez said
Also reflected on the season, acknowledging the tough competition from Mohun Bagan in the ISL Shield and highlighting the club’s hard work to get the success.
