In a swift response to food safety violations, the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) team conducted surprise inspections at Mapusa, near Alankar, after receiving reports that some outlets had reopened without complying with health and safety regulations. During the inspections, two vendors were found operating without adhering to the necessary norms and were ordered to shut down immediately. Each vendor was fined Rs 10,000 for non-compliance.

Additionally, the FDA took action against a prominent bakery at Karaswada, where its base kitchen was found to be operating under unhygienic conditions. As a result, the bakery was ordered to suspend operations until improvements were made to meet safety standards.

FDA officials have issued a stern warning, emphasizing that strict action will be taken against any future violations of food safety norms to ensure the health and well-being of consumers.
