FDA Raids Illegal Tiffin Hub in Parra, Shuts Down Filthy Operation

In a decisive enforcement action, the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) has shut down an unauthorized tiffin service operating out of a residential house in Britto Wado, Parra, following the discovery of serious food safety violations. The operation, run by a group from Bihar, was delivering nearly 300 tiffins daily to clients in Bardez and Pernem without any licenses or regulatory oversight.

A surprise inspection by FDA officials exposed the unit’s blatant disregard for hygiene and safety norms. The facility lacked a valid FSSAI license, and inspectors found unsanitary kitchen conditions, including unclean utensils, poor food storage practices, and a complete absence of hygiene protocols. Meals were being prepared and packed in conditions deemed hazardous to public health.

Citing multiple violations of the Food Safety and Standards Act, the FDA ordered the immediate shutdown of the operation and has initiated legal action against those responsible. Authorities also confirmed that the unit was operating without any formal health clearances or municipal registration.

This case is part of a broader FDA crackdown in Bardez and Pernem, targeting food businesses that ignore basic safety standards. In recent weeks, several snack vendors, bakeries, and small eateries have faced suspension, closure, or fines. Alarmingly, officials have also come across fake FSSAI licenses, prompting more rigorous inspections statewide.

The FDA has once again warned food businesses that non-compliance with hygiene and licensing regulations will result in strict penalties. Officials urged the public to remain alert and report any suspicious or unsafe food operations via the FDA helpline.

With the demand for tiffin and catering services on the rise, authorities stress that consumer health cannot be compromised and that accountability in food preparation is non-negotiable.
