In a surprise surveillance drive at the Patradevi border, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officials inspected 18 establishments including restaurants, wine shops, and dry fruit vendors. During the inspection, two units—a restaurant and a cashew shop—were ordered to suspend operations immediately due to unhygienic conditions.

Officials seized food items worth approximately Rs 50,000, including artificially colored dry fruits and chocolates suspected of adulteration. Samples of sweets were also collected and sent for laboratory analysis to ascertain quality and safety.

All other establishments were served improvement notices with a strict compliance deadline of 14 days to address the flagged issues. The FDA emphasized its commitment to ensuring food safety and hygiene standards to protect consumers.
