
Ponda Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against two residents of Durbhat for allegedly engaging in illegal hill cutting activities in the area.
The accused have been identified as Rameshwar Shet and Jainath Phadte, both from Durbhat village.
According to police, the duo carried out excavation and leveling work without obtaining mandatory permissions from the relevant authorities. The illegal activity reportedly caused damage to the local environment and raised concerns among nearby residents.
Officials said the investigation is ongoing and action will be taken in accordance with environmental protection laws. Authorities have also warned that strict measures will be enforced against anyone found involved in unauthorized land alteration.
