Goa police on Saturday registered an FIR against Uttar Pradesh civil judge Deepanshi Chaudhary and her husband, Nitin Lal, following a dispute at a restaurant in Anjuna over a parking issue. The incident reportedly occurred on Friday evening around 6:30 pm.
According to Anjuna police inspector Suraj Gawas, the couple argued with the restaurant staff, prompting the staff to call the police. When police arrived, both the judge and her husband were taken to the station. Lal reportedly claimed he was an additional sessions judge but failed to provide ID, while Chaudhary presented her ID but refused a photocopy or photo.
CCTV footage captured the entire incident. Based on the judge’s complaint, an FIR has also been filed against restaurant staff, alleging abuse, threats, and physical pushing aimed at outraging the couple’s modesty. Chaudhary refused a medical examination. Police have forwarded the FIR via WhatsApp and issued a notice for both to visit the station for further formalities.
