A fire broke out in a cashew orchard on a hilltop in Deusbhatwadi, Maye Panchayat area, on Tuesday. On the evening of March 11, a spark caused by friction between power lines broke out. In this fire, about 80 thousand sq.m. of land in the cashew orchard was burnt to ashes. Due to this, lakhs of rupees were lost.

The incident of the fire took place at around 4.30 pm. The high-voltage power line passing through these cashew orchards has gone out. Every year, strong winds cause friction in these lines. Due to the sparks flying from this, even the cashew orchards are completely burnt down. Every year, this kind of thing happens in these cashew orchards. But the government has not taken any steps to prevent this kind of thing.

This is the regret of cashew orchardists Dilip Satardekar and Atmaram Kinalkar. At the same time, at two places near Deus Bhatwadi and Maye Government Technical College, there was a fire at both places due to friction between these electric cables. In yesterday's incident, the same thing happened, due to friction on both sides, a fire broke out in the cashew orchards and the entire mountain fell into the fire. In this fire, about 80 thousand square meters of ripe cashew orchards were burnt down.

The issue has been raised with the panchayat and relevant authorities; however, no measures have been taken thus far. Atmaram Kinnarkar and Deelip Startdekar,  local residents, emphasizes that if the government is genuinely committed to assisting farmers, it must seek a resolution to this problem, as it directly impacts their livelihoods.
