A fire broke out at the new market complex in Sankhali Municipality, gutting three shops and causing losses exceeding Rs 50 lakh, officials confirmed.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant visited the site to inspect the damage and ordered an immediate inquiry into the incident. Speaking at the spot, Dr. Sawant described the fire as “very unfortunate” and emphasized that measures would be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, while necessary safety measures are expected to be reinforced across the market complex to avoid recurrence.
