In a swift crackdown, the Fatorda Police arrested five men for their alleged involvement in an assault at Mungul-Margao. The accused have been identified as Imran Bepari (38), resident of St Cruz; Akshay Talwar (22), resident of Borda; Avinash Gunjikar (31), resident of Navelim; Parshuram Rathod (32), native of Belgaum; and Deepak Kattimani, resident of Margao.
The group is accused of attacking Rafiq Tashan (24) and Yuvkesh Singh (20) during the incident. Police confirmed that a weapon used in the assault has been recovered.
While five suspects are now in custody, investigations revealed that five more individuals remain absconding, and efforts are underway to trace and apprehend them.
Police Inspector said the arrests followed prompt action based on complaints and intelligence inputs. Authorities added that strict measures will continue to curb violent incidents in the area and ensure public safety.
