PANJIM: Four members of Sao Matias panchayat moved a no-confidence notice against Sarpanch Supriya Tari.
“The special meeting of the panchayat is fixed on 4 October, at 11 am at village panchayat office to consider the no-confidence motion against Sarpanch Supriya Raju Tari,” the notice issued on September 28 by Samir Parab, Secretary said.
According to sources, the panch members who have served the notice of no-confidence motion include Marina Vaz, Rupesh Homkhandi, Shabdesh Mandrekar and Anuradha Volvoikar.
The Panchayat has seven members. Other members besides Surpriya Tari are Swapnil Bhomkar and Prashant Harvalkar.
Rupesh Homkandi was elected as the new Deputy Sarpanch of Panchayat in March this year. He had replaced Swapnil Bhomkar who resigned after holding the post for almost two years. Supriya Tari was elected as Sarpanch of the panchayat in 2022.
