MARGAO: Freny Barreto was elected unopposed as the new sarpanch of the Telaulim village panchayat on friday. Upon taking charge, the newly elected sarpanch pledged to work diligently for the betterment of the village, focusing on community development, infrastructure improvements, and enhancing local services.
It is pertinent to note that Lena Coutinho recently stepped down from the post of sarpanch due to personal reasons, leaving the position vacant.
Newly elected Sarpanch Freny Barreto stated that her primary aim is to work towards the betterment of the village while involving all panchayat members in the decision-making process.
"My main priority will be to resolve the garbage problem and to complete all pending developmental works in the village," she emphasised.
