Residents near Mauswada Junction have raised serious concerns over a dangerous stretch of the main road leading to Pernem, citing frequent accidents due to poor visibility at the spot. Locals say the absence of a convex traffic mirror at the junction has made it increasingly unsafe for motorists.
The blind curve at the junction has become a hotspot for collisions, with several accidents reported in recent weeks. Commuters and residents blame the lack of basic traffic safety infrastructure for the rising incidents.
"There are no mirrors to help drivers see oncoming traffic. It's become a death trap, especially during peak hours," said one concerned local. "We are requesting authorities to either install a traffic mirror at the earliest or consider cutting back the roadside section that blocks visibility."
Residents say despite repeated appeals to local authorities, no corrective action has been taken so far. They now urge the Public Works Department (PWD) and the local panchayat to step in before more lives are put at risk.
The area remains a key route for vehicles heading to and from Pernem, making immediate intervention essential to prevent further accidents.
