In a major push to strengthen grassroots cricket, the Goa Cricket Association (GCA) has distributed cricket kit bags to its affiliated clubs across the state. The initiative is aimed at nurturing young talent by providing essential gear and improving training infrastructure at the club level.
A special distribution ceremony was held to mark the occasion, with GCA President Vipul Phadke, Secretary Shamba Naik Dessai, and Joint Secretary Rupesh Naik in attendance. The kit bags include vital cricketing equipment such as bats, pads, gloves, helmets, and other accessories, empowering clubs to conduct structured and effective coaching sessions.
GCA President Vipul Phadke reiterated the association’s commitment to fostering a strong cricketing culture in Goa. “Access to proper equipment is a key pillar of skill development. By supporting clubs with quality gear, we hope to remove barriers that often prevent talented youngsters from reaching their full potential,” he stated.
Secretary Shamba Naik Dessai added that the GCA’s initiative is part of a long-term vision to help clubs identify and groom players who could go on to represent Goa at national and international levels. He emphasized that grassroots investment is crucial for building a competitive and sustainable cricketing future in the state.
This latest move reflects the GCA’s proactive approach to building a robust ecosystem for cricket in Goa, ensuring that young players have the resources and support needed to develop their game from the ground up.
