MARGAO: Goa Forward Party (GFP) President and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai submitted a formal letter to the Chief Secretary (CS) of Goa, demanding the immediate scrapping of the ongoing recruitment process for Lower Division Clerk (LDC) posts at the South Goa District Collectorate. Sardesai has raised serious allegations of a “cash for jobs” scam, wherein bribes were allegedly solicited from candidates in exchange for securing government jobs.

Questioning the delay in announcing the results and the integrity of the entire recruitment process, Sardesai has called for an impartial investigation into the scam. He stressed the need to hold those involved accountable and to ensure that jobs are awarded based on merit, not through illicit payments. “The government has to take action to restore public faith in government recruitment processes and protect the rights of deserving candidates,” said Sardesai.

The GFP Chief also brought attention to complaints from candidates who were approached by a woman demanding money in exchange for securing their positions. Those who refused to pay were reportedly failed in the recruitment process, he alleged. Despite having already raised this issue with Revenue Minister Atanasio ‘Babush’ Monserrate and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Sardesai lamented that his party’s attempts to seek immediate action went unanswered. He alleged that further investigations have indicated the involvement of two officials from the Bicholim Polytechnic, who are alleged to have manipulated the exam results, and he wanted this to be investigated as well.
