A Goa-Bengaluru interstate bus narrowly avoided a tragedy early Tuesday morning after it met with a major accident near Yellapur. The bus, which was reportedly carrying several passengers, ended up dangerously hanging over the edge of a cliff following the incident.

Miraculously, all passengers survived the crash. However, several sustained minor to moderate injuries and were promptly shifted to nearby medical facilities for treatment.

Eyewitnesses said the accident occurred on a sharp curve, and the situation could have turned fatal had the bus slipped any further. Local authorities and emergency responders rushed to the spot and began rescue operations to safely evacuate all passengers.

Images from the site show the bus teetering on the edge of the cliff, underscoring the severity of the incident. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, though preliminary reports suggest the driver may have lost control of the vehicle on the hilly terrain.

Local police have launched a probe, and efforts are underway to recover the bus and ensure the route is cleared for traffic.

Passengers and their families have expressed gratitude for the timely response by emergency services, even as the incident has raised renewed concerns over safety on the Goa-Karnataka highway stretch, particularly through the forested and hilly areas of Yellapur.
