
The Goa Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, on Tuesday approved a series of major projects and policy measures spanning tourism, heritage, logistics, and mining management.
Koti Tirth Corridor Project: The Cabinet cleared the proposal at the old Saptakoteshaar temple site on Divar Island, following a positive report from the Archaeology Department, paving the way for heritage-linked development.
Mormugao Street Circuit: The port town will host Round 4 of the 2025 Indian Racing Festival, expected to attract large tourist crowds and boost Goa’s motorsport profile.
Iron Ore Dump Management: The state government will rope in The Energy & Resource Institute (TERI) to advise on the handling and management of legacy iron ore dumps.
Goa State Logistic & Warehousing Incentive Scheme 2025: The scheme was approved to encourage investments in the sector, offering capital subsidies, loan interest subsidies, and other incentives.
Meanwhile, CM Sawant also confirmed that the BJP will file its nomination for the Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker’s post on September 23, though the candidate is yet to be finalized. The Speaker elections are scheduled for September 25.
