The Goa Cabinet has approved a proposal to rope in The Energy & Resources Institute (TERI) to provide expert advice on the management and handling of iron ore dumps, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced.
The decision is aimed at ensuring scientific and sustainable handling of legacy iron ore dumps, a long-pending issue linked to mining and environmental management in the state. TERI’s involvement is expected to help the government strike a balance between economic activity and ecological protection.
