The induction of senior leaders Digambar Kamat and Ramesh Tawadkar into the Goa Cabinet has drawn praise and optimism from fellow ministers and party members, who hailed it as a move that will strengthen governance and boost development.

Water Resources Minister Subhash Shirodkar said both were “experienced and neededin the Cabinet,” adding their presence would give “a greater boost” to Goa’s growth. Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho called Kamat’s induction a strengthening of the Cabinet “in terms of ideas, decision-making, and overall governance.”

Health Minister Vishwajit Rane described the move as “a good decision” by the High Command, while Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte termed it “a celebratory moment” for the party.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant congratulated the new ministers, saying, “They will work for the development of the people and Goa,” though he remained non-committal on portfolios.

A delighted Tawadkar said his appointment recognised his long-standing commitment to the party and people. “Looking ahead to 2027, if we work shoulder to shoulder, South Goa will see a strong majority,” he declared.

Former Chief Minister Kamat, returning after 13 years, thanked national leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President JP Nadda for the trust placed in him. “This role will allow me to work for the people and help strengthen the party,” he said.

The inductions are widely seen as a strategic step to consolidate the BJP’s position in South Goa ahead of the next elections.
