Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Monday laid the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art Government Office Complex in Bicholim Taluk, North Goa, marking a major push toward strengthening local administrative infrastructure. Estimated at a cost of ₹57.33 crore, the new facility is envisioned as a one-stop hub housing multiple government departments. It will include modern amenities such as a public library and an open hall, aimed at streamlining service delivery and promoting efficient governance.
The project, set to be completed within 18 months, is expected to boost administrative efficiency and support the government’s digital and e-governance initiatives. Addressing the gathering, CM Sawant said the new complex would improve transparency and foster a more citizen-friendly administrative environment.
The foundation stone-laying ceremony was attended by Bicholim MLA Dr. Chandrakant Shetye, Maem MLA Premendra Shet, and other dignitaries, who welcomed the government's focus on improving public infrastructure. Earlier in the day, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar reviewed Goa’s ongoing urban development efforts and assured support for proposals aimed at upgrading vital services such as water supply.
