Goa Environment Minister Aleixo Sequeira on Wednesday announced that he will be resigning from the Cabinet by this evening, citing personal reasons.
“I will be resigning by this evening from the post of Cabinet Minister due to personal reasons,” Sequeira said in a brief statement.
The resignation comes amid speculation of a Cabinet reshuffle in the state. However, Sequeira clarified that his decision was personal and not linked to political developments.
Sequeira, who represents the Nuvem constituency, was inducted into the Cabinet in October 2023. He held the Environment and Provedoria portfolios.
An official confirmation on his resignation is expected later today.
