Goa Forward Party (GFP) Youth Vice President Ruonal Kerkar was allegedly attacked by four unidentified persons in Shiroda, police sources said on Saturday.
According to reports, Kerkar was targeted late Friday night when the assailants not only assaulted him but also damaged his car during the incident. The motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained.
The GFP youth leader has filed a complaint, and police have launched an investigation to identify and trace the accused.
Condemning the incident, GFP leaders said the assault was an attempt to intimidate the party’s youth wing and demanded strict action against those responsible.
Police assured that all angles are being probed and that necessary security measures would be taken to prevent further escalation.
