CM Sawant Reviews Progress, Announces Increased Support for Green Infrastructure

The Goa State government is intensifying its commitment to renewable energy with a renewed focus on solar power, biogas, and solar water heating systems across the state. The decision was taken during a high-level review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.

Senior officials from the Finance and Home departments, along with representatives from the Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA), attended the meeting. According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the government has decided to ramp up financial assistance for the installation of biogas units, solar water heaters, and solar energy systems in government buildings.

The move aims to reduce dependence on conventional energy sources, lower carbon emissions, and encourage the adoption of sustainable technologies in public infrastructure. The initiative is part of Goa's broader strategy to become a greener, energy-efficient state.

More specific project details and implementation timelines are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
