In a move to promote digital adoption among local taxi operators, the Goa Government has launched the 'Goa Taxi Driver App', aimed at supporting traditional taxi drivers and improving ease of access for commuters.

As part of the launch initiative, the government has announced a special incentive for early adopters. The first 500 drivers who complete 50 rides through the app and remain active for at least 30 days between 8 AM and 8 PM will be rewarded with 25 litres of free fuel—including petrol, diesel, or CNG, based on their vehicle type.

The app is designed to streamline bookings, increase driver visibility, and ensure fair pricing. Officials said the platform would also help reduce reliance on private aggregators, empowering local drivers and promoting tourism-friendly mobility options.

The Transport Department urged taxi drivers across Goa to register and actively use the app to benefit from the fuel incentive and future government-linked schemes.
