The Goa state government has launched the 'Goa Career Navigator' initiative, a comprehensive career guidance program aimed at empowering over 18,000 Class 12 students across the state’s 12 talukas. The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with GSCERT, UNOCUE, and the Nobel Association.
Designed to align with the National Education Policy (NEP), the program includes expert-led career awareness sessions, psychometric assessments, and AI-based personalised reports tailored to help students make informed career choices based on their strengths and interests.
Significantly, the initiative also promotes parental involvement, recognising the crucial role families play in career decision-making. Officials said that the program will eventually be extended to students in lower grades, making career guidance a continuous and evolving process in Goa’s education system.
Education department representatives have called the initiative a major step toward holistic student development, aimed at bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world opportunities. The program has already begun rolling out in schools and is expected to cover all Class 12 students in a phased manner.
