The Office of the Commissioner of Commercial Taxes in Goa has collaborated with trade associations and key stakeholders to ensure that the benefits of the new GST reforms reach consumers, according to a GST-Trade Circular issued by Commissioner of State Taxes S S Gill. The circular instructs trade and industry players to proactively reflect GST rate reductions and savings in consumer prices. Officers in all eight ward offices across Goa have been directed to assist taxpayers during the transition. Department officials will also visit retail outlets to monitor compliance and ensure savings are passed on. Non-compliance will result in prompt legal action, Gill warned. Any implementation challenges can be reported directly to his office. The nationwide GST reforms came into effect on Sept 22, 2025, with relevant CBIC notifications available online.
