Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced on Friday that the State government will soon float a tender to operationalise the ‘Ration at Your Doorstep’ scheme, aimed at delivering food grains directly to beneficiaries through existing fair price shops.

Speaking about the initiative, the Chief Minister said the delivery mechanism will leverage the network of fair price shops to ensure timely and efficient distribution of ration supplies to eligible households. “The tender process will begin shortly, and we are committed to implementing the scheme effectively across Goa,” he stated.

In addition to the doorstep delivery initiative, the government has also decided to undertake repair and maintenance work of all civil supplies godowns in the state. “Upgrading storage infrastructure is essential to support the smooth functioning of the Public Distribution System,” Sawant added.

The dual measures aim to enhance food security, improve last-mile delivery, and ensure the structural readiness of the civil supplies network statewide.
