Goa Hosts Menstrual Awareness Program Focused on Sustainability and Hygiene

In a major initiative promoting menstrual hygiene and environmental responsibility, a Menstrual Awareness Program was held today at the Banquet Hall, BPS Club, Margao, under the theme “Pioneering Sustainable Ecosystem in Hygiene, Sanitation, Water & Waste Management.”

The event, organized in collaboration with ASSOCHAM (The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India), brought together a diverse group of participants including policymakers, healthcare professionals, and environmental experts. The program, held from 10 AM to 1 PM, focused on advancing dialogue and action around menstrual health, eco-friendly products, and effective waste management.

Special Guest Shri Sachin S. Desai, Director of the Department of Environment and Climate Change, Government of Goa, highlighted the urgent need to adopt sustainable menstrual products and improve waste disposal systems to reduce the environmental footprint.

The gathering emphasized the importance of awareness, education, and policy support to foster a holistic and sustainable approach to menstrual health management, especially in public and institutional settings.
