Goa Man Booked for Hosting Illegal Housie Gambling Game at Chinchinim Stage Show

Cuncolim Police Register Case Against Chinchinim Local for Unauthorized Gambling Activity

Cuncolim police have registered a case against a resident of Chinchinim for allegedly organizing a gambling activity, commonly known as "Housie," during a public stage show without obtaining prior approval from authorities.

As per a complaint filed by PSI Suhas Velip, the incident took place on May 2 between 7:00 PM and 10:30 PM at the Chinchinim Panchayat Playground. The accused is alleged to have conducted the game in a public space during the event, offering a total prize pool of ₹10 lakh to participants.

The offence has been booked under Section 11(2)(a) of the Public Gambling Act, which prohibits the operation of gambling activities in public places without authorization. Police have confirmed that further investigation is currently underway to determine the extent of the violations and identify any additional parties involved.
