In a major milestone for public healthcare in Goa, the IVF Centre at Goa Medical College (GMC) has successfully delivered triplets under its free IVF treatment initiative. The birth marks a significant achievement for the facility, which aims to provide advanced fertility solutions to couples facing infertility.
The mother delivered three healthy babies—one boy and two girls—via a complex Caesarean section. The newborns weighed 2.32 kg, 1.77 kg, and 1.525 kg respectively and are reported to be in stable condition, along with the mother, thanks to the dedicated care of GMC's medical team.
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane announced the milestone, praising the centre’s growing expertise and commitment. “This success story is a testament to the excellent work being done by our team at GMC and reinforces our commitment to supporting families through government-backed healthcare,” Rane said.
The achievement highlights GMC’s role as a beacon of hope for couples dealing with infertility and underscores the potential of publicly funded fertility care in India.
