Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza has strongly condemned an incident involving an unauthorised extension of a college event that shifted from a prominent educational institution in Mapusa to the Mapusa bus stand without prior permission.
Speaking to the media, D’Souza confirmed that he had reached out to the college authorities to gather complete details about the nature and purpose of the event. “It has come to our notice that the participants moved to the Mapusa bus stand and continued their activity there. I condemn this entire episode,” he stated.
Raising serious concerns over the public nature of the incident and its potential impact, the MLA assured that the matter had been escalated to all relevant authorities, including the Mapusa Police, Excise Department, and the Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL). “I have taken up the issue with all concerned agencies, and they have assured me of stern action,” he added.
D’Souza emphasized the need for maintaining public discipline and said that steps are being taken to ensure such incidents are not repeated. “I have ensured strict action so that such incidents don’t occur again,” he concluded.
