Goa Police have registered a case against a driver linked to a ride-hailing platform for allegedly ferrying passengers without the mandatory state transport permit. The action came after the driver picked up passengers from Manohar International Airport, Mopa, using the mobile app despite lacking the required licence.
North Goa Superintendent of Police Rahul Gupta said the driver, in alleged collusion with the platform’s local management, was found operating illegally, violating state transport regulations. Gupta warned that such unauthorised operations not only breach the law but also endanger passenger safety, compromise security, and cause revenue loss to the state exchequer.
The case has been lodged at Mopa Police Station under relevant legal provisions. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation into the matter.
