The Anti-Narcotics Task Force of Goa Police has destroyed 26.71 kilograms of narcotics at an incinerator facility in IDC, Kundaim, officials confirmed on Saturday.
The seized drugs were linked to 11 NDPS cases investigated by the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC), all of which have now completed trial proceedings. Following due legal procedures, the contraband was incinerated in the presence of officials and under strict supervision.
Authorities said the disposal of seized drugs is part of an ongoing drive to ensure narcotics recovered during investigations are eliminated once court processes are over, thereby preventing any risk of them re-entering the illegal market.
Police reiterated their commitment to intensifying the crackdown on drug trafficking in Goa, especially with the tourist season around the corner.
