In a significant crackdown on human trafficking, Goa Police rescued three women and arrested four individuals allegedly involved in prostitution rackets during back-to-back raids in Ponda and Colva.
The operations, carried out with the assistance of decoy customers and local NGOs, targeted hotels where victims were reportedly being delivered. Following the rescue, the women have been shifted to a protective home in Merces for their safety.
Cases have been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023 and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, with further investigations ongoing to uncover the full network behind the illegal activities.
Authorities have urged the public to report any suspicious activity and assured strict action against offenders involved in trafficking and exploitation.
