Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Digambar Kamat has directed that no flyover or bridge construction work in Goa should commence without first ensuring proper service roads for public convenience.
Addressing officials and contractors, Kamat stressed that road users must not be inconvenienced during major infrastructure projects. He further instructed contractors to complete hotmixing works at Vales Junction by September 30, underlining that his priority is to provide citizens with the best possible road network.
“Our focus is on delivering quality infrastructure without causing unnecessary hardship to the people. Service roads must be in place before any flyover or bridge work begins,” the minister said.
The directive comes amid growing concerns over traffic disruptions and poor road conditions in several parts of the state.
