Goa Shipyard Launches Pollution Control Vessel ‘Samudra Prachet’ for Indian Coast Guard

Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) marked a significant milestone on Wednesday with the launch of Samudra Prachet (GSL Yard – 1268), a pollution control vessel built for the Indian Coast Guard. The ceremonial launch took place at the GSL premises at 10:05 AM.

The vessel was formally launched by Priya Paramesh in the presence of Director General of the Indian Coast Guard, Paramesh Sivamani, AVSM, PTM, TM, who graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Samudra Prachet is the latest addition to GSL’s line of advanced maritime platforms and reflects the shipyard's continued commitment to equipping the Indian Coast Guard with cutting-edge assets designed to combat marine pollution and ensure maritime safety.

Senior officials from Goa Shipyard, Coast Guard personnel, and other dignitaries attended the event, underlining the importance of indigenous shipbuilding in strengthening India’s coastal security and environmental protection capabilities.
